Consider SAT for:

1. Animals taking drugs that have potential for producing liver disease
2. Animals with liver disease
3. Animals that have shown elevated "liver enzymes" before outward signs of liver disease develop

SAT stands for Silybum marianum (milk thistle), Artichoke (Cynara scolymus) and Turmeric (Curcuma longa). These three herbs are an excellent combination to Prevent and to Treat Liver disease. The antioxidant capability of milk thistle helps heal liver cell membranes and helps maintain liver antioxidants such as glutathione. Curcuma inhibits liver inflammation (it inhibits lipoxygenase, thus reducing the production of pro-inflammatory leukotrienes). Artichoke supports liver regeneration and is a protectant against a variety of liver toxins.

The combination of these herbs act synergistically on the liver and may help many types of liver disorders. This product may also help prevent liver disorders in animals taking drugs that have the potential to produce liver disease. A good example of this is the use of phenobarbitol to control seizures. Giving SAT while on phenobarbitol may decrease the incidence of liver disease.
