Usage:
Lactalbumins are proteins in milk that contain all the amino acids (proteins) needed in the diet for people. These lactalbumins are usually produced from whey. Whey is the liquid part of milk that remains after milk sours or is enzymatically digested in the production of cheese. The whey is then partially hydrolyzed (further digested with enzymes) to make the resulting lactalbumin-complete proteins that are extremely easy to digest. Hydrolyzed Lactalbumins are very readily absorbed and hypoallergenic. Lactalbumins are also found in greater concentration in Colostrum. There are situations when Colostrum will be the preferred supplement, and times when Lactalbumins are preferred.
Uses in Animals
- Lactalbumins can be used as a pure protein source for animals that are allergic to proteins.
- Lactalbumins seem to have antiviral effects.
- As a meal replacement, to promote fat loss while sparing muscles
- Help provide a lean body mass
- Increase dietary protein ratio
- Hypoallergenic proteins
- Protein source during elimination/detoxification programs-animals with food allergies
- Lactalbumins seem to heal the intestinal tract and promote local gut immunity (GALT tissue)
